On publishing of the financial reports
AS „Rīgas kuģu būvētava” (Company) hereby declares that it has still not managed to prevent the reasons indicated in announcements of April 30th, 2024, June 12th, 2024, July 23rd, 2024, and August 30th, 2024, for which an audited financial report of 2023 is not yet published.
In addition to the reasons mentioned previously, where the former chief accounting and other former responsible officials did not hand over to the Board of Directors elected in April 2024 information regarding the transactions performed by the Company, in particular in 4th quarter of 2023 and 1st quarter of 2024, and the supporting documentation thereof, as well as the fact that the former chief accounting complied exclusively with the direct orders and instructions of the former Chairman of the Council, blatantly ignoring the tasks assigned by the Board of Directors, contrary to the principles of good governance, it was also found that the former chief accounting carried out her duties, possibly knowingly, in bad faith and negligent manner, committing errors in the accounting of the transactions performed by the Company, where information on the transactions is still specified according to the information received from the Company’s customers and cooperation partners. Furthermore, in September 2024, the existing chief accounting officer of the Company announced the termination of his employment relationship due to his state of health, which has made it difficult to provide information to the auditors of the Company and, accordingly, to carry out an audit of the financial report for 2023.
Although the priority of the Company is the completion of the audit of the financial report of 2023 and the Company takes all possible measures to complete the audit of the financial report of 2023 with existing resources as soon as possible, but considering that the competence of existing employees is insufficient, additional time is required for completion of the audit of the financial report, hence the Company intends to publish an audited financial report of 2023 by November 22nd, 2024.
