AS VIRŠI-A opens second service station in Salaspils
Expanding its network, the energy commodities trader and convenience store network AS VIRŠI-A (hereinafter – Virši) opens its second full-service facility in Salaspils — at Līvzemes Street 40. Investing EUR 1.9 million in the construction of the service station, the Company landscaped an area of 9,360 m2, creating a convenient place to stop on the way to Riga.
The location will be open to customers 24 hours a day, providing a wide range of shopping facilities, a comfortable indoor and outdoor seating area, as well as fuel and charging facilities for three electric cars. The roof of the service station are equipped with solar panels that will convert solar radiation into electricity for the facility’s own consumption. It also has a spacious car park that can comfortably accommodate up to 14 cars and four trucks.
“We are continuing the rapid growth dynamics of the Company by opening our fourth point of sale this year. The location of the Salaspils service station is strategically important for the Company, as it combines the traffic flows moving towards Riga from both the Via Baltica and Daugavpils motorways, as well as further enhancing our brand representation in Salaspils. We are currently building new facilities in another five locations in Latvia. In July we plan to open our first service station in Lithuania, thus moving towards our strategic goal of providing customers with at least 90 points of sale by the end of 2026,” says Jānis Vība, Chairman of the Board at Virši.
“Virši Salaspils 2” offers automatic refuelling with the most popular options (95 and 98 petrol, diesel, Adblue), as well as dispensable windscreen fluid. Electric car owners have two chargers with three charging points with the possibility to charge three cars at the same time.
To celebrate the opening Virši will ensure free electric car charging this weekend, on 29 and 30 June at “Virši Salaspils 2”. There are two 160 kW CCS plug-ins and one 40 kW CCS or CHAdeMO plug-in. The total charging capacity is 360 kW, with up to 160 kW available for one car at a time.
The shares of AS VIRŠI-A are admitted to trading on Nasdaq Baltic First North Market.
