04/24 Nasdaq Salmon Index will not be calculated and published after 6 August 2024
The Nasdaq Salmon Index reflects the weekly market spot price for fresh Atlantic Superior Salmon Head on Gutted sold to European clients. The index is calculated based on actual physical transactions and is reported to Nasdaq by a panel of Norwegian salmon exporters (the “Data Contributors”).
Following numerous Data Contributors having terminated their data contribution agreements with Nasdaq effective 6 August 2024 it is assessed that the Nasdaq Salmon Index will no longer reflect the market-economic reality it is aimed at measuring after this date. Pursuant to the Nasdaq Benchmark Cessation Procedure, the Nasdaq BMR Oversight Committee has therefore decided to stop the calculation and dissemination of the Nasdaq Salmon Index after 6 August 2024. Nasdaq will continue to calculate and disseminate the Nasdaq Salmon Index until 6 August 2024.
Fish Pool ASA will replace the Nasdaq Salmon Index with the Sitagri Salmon Spot Index, SISALMONI, as a component to calculate the Fish Pool Index from 13 August 2024. We refer to separate market notice on this by Fish Pool ASA, available on www.fishpool.eu/news.
