AS INDEXO Bank (hereinafter – INDEXO Bank) has introduced a feature in its mobile app that allows all 2nd pillar pension savers to view their personal 2nd pillar pension savings, contributions, and earnings, regardless of whether they are clients of INDEXO or any other 2nd pillar pension manager in Latvia. 

This is a significant step towards increasing people's interest in their pension savings and making information more accessible, as until now, the 2nd pillar pension savings overview was only available on the Latvia.lv portal. A survey conducted by Norstat in collaboration with INDEXO at the end of last year revealed that approximately 50% of employed individuals had not checked their pension savings in the past year and, consequently, may not have been managing one of the largest savings in their lives effectively.

Many people are unaware that their pension savings have already reached several thousand euros. However, for some, the reality may be different. Around 60% of Latvia’s residents have chosen 2nd pillar pension plans that are not suitable for their age, thus earning less than they could. This often happens because pension information has not been easily accessible, making it feel less like real money that requires thoughtful management.

In the survey conducted by INDEXO and Norstat in December 2024, 1008 working individuals aged 25 to 60 participated.
