The establishment of CrossChem Moldova — including site selection, facility adaptation in Chișinău, production equipment development in Latvia, transportation, installation, and VDA accreditation took 13 months and required a total investment of approximately € 500,000. The plant has a production capacity of 1.3 million litres of AdBlue® per month, fully meeting Moldova’s national demand for the product.
“Until now, Moldova relied on imported AdBlue®, often facing supply challenges and uncertainty. We are entering this market with a mission to change that - creating a stable foundation for the local production of an environmentally friendly product,” says Richard Anderson, Chairman of the Board at CrossChem. “This plant is much more than just an investment - it shows our trust in CrossChem Moldova’s potential to become a leading force in sustainable chemical manufacturing and supply in the region.”
The new CrossChem AdBlue® production facility in Moldova was accredited by Paul Burgers, a highly experienced VDA auditor from the Netherlands, who has been actively involved in AdBlue® trademark protection and quality control since 2004. The audit resulted in an exceptional 96.5% rating, which, according to R. Anderson, “demonstrates the consistently high quality maintained by CrossChem - the world’s largest independent AdBlue® manufacturer.”
This new facility is a major step toward Moldova’s independence from imported AdBlue®, creating new jobs and producing locally-sourced, eco-friendly chemical products that meet the highest international standards. With domestic production in place, Moldovan businesses will benefit from significantly better prices and shorter delivery times for AdBlue®.
