Commentary on information published in media Today, on 3 September 2019, information has been published in the media, suggesting that a search has been carried out in the office of SIA Merks, part of AS Merko Ehitus group. In particular, this has been claimed by Postimees online in an article titled “Latvian authorities are going through Merko office” (original: “Läti võimud puistavad Merko kontorit”) and by BNS in its article “In connection with inquiry into cartel agreement also the head of Merko’s subsidiary is questioned” (original: “Läti kartellileppe uurimises kuulatakse üle ka Merko tütarfirma juhti”). Based on current information, we affirm that Latvian officials are talking to Mr. Oskars Ozolins, Chairman of the Management Board of SIA Merks. No searches have been carried out in the office of SIA Merks, no official suspicion or accusation has been charged against the company or any of its employees. Merit Kullasepp
