Company Announcement

Eco Baltia vide will continue to provide services in Liepāja and Dienvidkurzeme regions after an open tender

In the open tender for municipal waste management in the administrative territories of the municipalities of the Dienvidkurzeme Waste Management Region, carried out by the Liepāja State City Local Government, the offer of the environmental management company LLC (SIA) Eco Baltia vide in one of the two zones was recognised as the most appropriate and financially advantageous. The procurement deadline is 30 April 2031, while the effective dates are from the end of the current contracts of the regions covered by the procurement, which may vary.

After the expiry of the current contract (from May 1 this year), the company will provide municipal waste management services to residents and businesses in the administrative territory of the Liepāja State City from the Trade Canal to the northern border of the city, as well as in the administrative territory of the Dienvidkurzeme Region from the national road A9 Riga (Skulte) - Liepāja to the northern border of the region for the next seven years – until 30 April 2031.

From 1 March 2026 – after the expiry of the current contract – Eco Baltia vide will continue to provide services also in the administrative territory of Saldus Municipality from the national road A9 Riga (Skulte) - Liepāja, regional road P105 Butnāri - Ezere (Brīvības street in Saldus municipality), regional road P108 (Kuldīgas street in Saldus Municipality), regional road P109 Kandava - Saldus (Jelgavas street in Saldus Municipality) to the northern border of the municipality. The tender also foresees that the provision of services will continue in Skrunda and nearby regions, but the exact territorial scope and contract terms are still to be decided by the Kuldīga Municipality Council.

The total procurement amount for all regions for the contract periods is EUR 31.4 million (excluding VAT), distributed according to the number of customers in the areas covered by the successful candidates. The amount will vary during the contract period depending on actual waste volumes and other factors.  At present, according to the information published by the Procurement Monitoring Bureau, the total procurement amount for the regions managed by Eco Baltia vide Ltd is EUR 17.4 million.

In accordance with the terms of the tender, the conditions of the contract and the contract price, Eco Baltia vide will provide management of unsorted household waste, as well as biodegradable and other sorted waste in its management areas. In Liepāja and Saldus, management of separate waste collection sites will continue, as well as other services.

Promoting opportunities for separate waste collection and recycling, Eco Baltia vide, on its own initiative, already last year started work on the construction of a waste sorting and recycling area in Liepāja, which will be available to residents and businesses also during the future term of the contract. The company will also continue to develop its sorting system for textiles and other waste and goods, enabling its customers to sort a wider range of waste.
