Íslandsbanki: hf.: Agreement on Birna Einarsdóttir stepping down as CEO

At the request of Birna Einarsdóttir the Board of Directors and Birna have reached an agreement on the terms of her resignation as CEO of Íslandsbanki.

The Board of Directors of the Bank has appointed Jón Guðni Ómarsson as CEO. Jón Guðni has been with Íslandsbanki and its predecessors from the year 2000 and has served as CFO of the Bank since 2011. Jón Guðni will continue as CFO of Íslandsbanki until a new CFO is appointed.

Jón Guðni is well known to the Board of Directors through his extensive work for the Bank. He has vast experience working in the financial sector and will lead the bank on the road ahead.“
