In order to address customer interest for hedging both the Nordic System Price (System) and the Area Price in the Nordic Electricity market, Nasdaq Commodities has decided to introduce a fee holiday for the Electricity Price Area Differential (EPAD) contract executed directly in a one- sided combination (System and EPAD) transaction in the Electronic Trading System (ETS). Subject to testing the fee holiday will be effective from October 1, 2020 until September 30, 2021.
A one-sided combination allows you to register an outright bid or offer interest in a specific Area Price in ETS, by combining the System contract and the EPAD contract.
a) Buy System + buy EPAD = outright Area Price bid
b) Sell System + sell EPAD = outright Area Price offer
Participants who wish to trade a one- sided combo reflecting the same delivery period (e g SCSTOFUTYR-21 = ENOFUTBLYR-21 + SYSTOFUTBLYR-21) in ETS will automatically receive a free trading and clearing fee for the EPAD (SYSTOFUTBLYR-21) contract. Full trading and clearing fee will apply to the System (ENOFUTBLYR-21) contract.
No other form of combination orders or baits in ETS or for Block, RFQ, MTS and EFS/EFP Trade registration are to be affected and will keep the existing fee structure.
The following standard one-sided combinations will be available for trading and clearing in ETS.
Swedish areas: 5 Months, 4 Quarters and 4 Years
Finnish area: 5 Months, 4 Quarters and 4 Years
Danish areas: 3 Months, 3 Quarters and 3 Years
Norwegian areas: 3 Months, 3 Quarters and 3 Years
