Cleveron Mobility AS (Clevon) unmanned vehicles will start drive in the Old Town of Tallinn

The city Tallinn and Cleveron Mobility AS (brand name Clevon) shall sign a cooperation agreement, which enables the ongoing CLEVON 1 vehicle testing pilot project with DHL Express Estonia to be expanded to the Tallinn Old Town area.

The cooperation agreement is to be concluded for two months. Pilot project is to gain experience and make sure whether the use of robot couriers in the old town is practical. During the project, Clevon undertakes the responsibility to comply with requirements of the traffic law and to use no more than one robot courier for simultaneous traffic in the area.

One of the goals of Tallinn, as the European Green Capital of 2023, is to develop carbon-neutral mobility in urban space. CLEVON 1 is a fully electric, noise-free and emission-free type of transport, which is why it is a safe and environmentally friendly way to deliver goods in the narrow streets of the old town compared to ordinary motor vehicles. CLEVON 1 enables to offer to institutions, businesses and residents of the area delivery of the ordered goods in a more environmentally friendly way, while simultaneously ensuring pedestrian´s safety and accessibility.

Arno Kütt, head of Clevon, believes that the cooperation agreement is an important step towards the implementation of environmentally friendly smart solutions: "If we want to improve the quality of life in the center of Tallinn, fully electric vehicles, such as CLEVON 1, are one possible solution that will help reduce pollution in this area." Kütt added that one of the the goal of the pilot project is also to demonstrate together with the partner DHL Express Estonia the necessity of the new courier solution and the benefit to the old town area.
