Elmo Rent
Company Announcement

ELMO Rent will continue to launch a taxi service without Elektritakso OÜ

ELMO Rent AS and Elektritakso OÜ terminated the merger negotiations, as no terms suitable for both parties were reached during negotiations. The company is in talks to find a new partner to launch an environmentally friendly taxi service in the first half of this year.

"The remote control technology we are developing has a significant competitive advantage over other companies offering short-term car rental services, as the launch of our own taxi service will allow us to further expand the range of services offered with environmentally friendly machines and significantly optimize costs. We also need taxi drivers to launch the remote controlled car rental service, for we are currently in the process of equiping 20 cars with remote control technology. Despite terminating negotiations with Elektritakso, we intend to enter the market of taxi services this spring, and work on this has been going on for some time as a fallback measure, ”confirmed Enn Laansoo Jr., Chairman of the Advisory Board of Elmo Rent.

"We currently have different options on the table for how to best launch the environmentally friendly taxi service. We will also present a more detailed plan to the public soon. The priority is to start in Tallinn and then move to foreign markets, where we see great potential. We have also made preparations to launch a new app, and also ordered the first electric cars to start the taxi service. The customer can order a vehicle with or without a driver, i.e. rent the vehicle himself or order a taxi, ”added Laansoo.

ELMO Rent AS is a company established and operating in Estonia, whose main field of activity is the provision of environmentally friendly vehicle sharing services, and the development, launch and scaling of related environmentally friendly and innovative technologies, such as the fleet IT operating system, car controller and remote control vehicle.
