The marketing of ELMO remote control car technology will be led by Raili Somelar, who has a background in fin-tech
The new generation mobility service provider ELMO Rent’s marketing is taken over by Raili Somelar, who has experience in financial services companies and international marketing.
Raili has been responsible for the brand communication of Pocopay, the Estonian start-up company known very well in the world today, worked as the Baltic brand manager of the bank Luminor, and as the brand and communications manager of the international financing company Creditea. Under her leadership, several companies and banking services have been launched and rebranded in Australia, Mexico, Spain, and various countries in Central Europe during the last three years.
‘ELMO is a pioneer in the world in introducing remotely controlled vehicle technology to the market, helping make the living environment more economical and efficient. As a member of the management team responsible for the brand and marketing, such ambitious and revolutionary goals are an excellent challenge and opportunity to apply past experiences. ELMO also combines two of my passions – technology and a green way of thinking,’ said Somelar.
According to Enn Laansoo Jr., founder and CEO of ELMO Rent, the company is facing a busy season, which is also the culmination of bringing the remote-controlled vehicle technology into service and marketing it in foreign countries. ‘The first remote-controlled vehicles will be in service as early as September, and we have the big ambition of starting to licence the technology in foreign markets as well. Raili’s previous experience in international marketing is highly valuable for us,’ said Laansoo. The French-German tour introducing ELMO technology at the beginning of June turned out to be very successful and has raised these countries’ media and companies’ interest in ELMO’s remote-controlled technology. In September, we will also be moving to the US market.
Over the summer, several people joined the company’s management – the position of Head of Software Engineering was taken by Raoul Järvis, under whose hand one of the world’s first and most renowned taxi ordering applications, Taxipal, was created. ELMO’s activities in France and Germany are being launched by Kristiina Kaldmaa, whose previous experience at Enterprise Estonia, embassies, and Business France support ELMO’s plans to expand outside of Estonia. The management of the company was taken over by Enn Laansoo Jr., founder of ELMO Rent and a pioneer in the green industry.
‘Strengthening the company’s management has been a strategic step in preparation to being the first company in the world to introduce remotely controlled technology. We have big ambitions in terms of technology, and I am glad that we can move towards our goals as a united team consisting of strong professionals in their respective field,’ said Laansoo Jr.
ELMO Rent AS is an Estonian company whose main field of activity is the provision of an environmentally friendly vehicle sharing service and the development, launch, and scaling of related environmentally friendly and innovative technologies, such as vehicle fleet IT operating systems, car controllers, and remotely controlled vehicles.
