In July 2024, Icelandair transported 610 thousand passengers, a record number for one month, and an 8% increase compared to July 2023. During the month, 33% traveled to Iceland, 17% from Iceland, 45% traveled via Iceland, and 6% traveled within Iceland. The load factor was 87.1% and on-time performance was 80.3%, increasing 5.9 ppt between years. Year-to-date, Icelandair has transported 2.6 million passengers, 7% more than last year.
Bogi Nils Bogason, President and CEO of Icelandair:
“In July, we saw an 8% increase in the number of passengers and a record number for one month. Despite a reduction in passenger demand to Iceland we achieved a load factor increase compared to July last year. This shows how we have used the flexibility of our route network to put increased focus on via passengers compared to last year, when demand to Iceland was stronger. We are very pleased to see continued great on-time performance, which is thanks to a strong focus and the outstanding work of the Icelandair team. On-time performance is a very important contributing factor in the increased positive feedback we have been receiving in customer experience surveys.”
