Green Genius secures €100 million investment, EBRD to become shareholder
Green Genius, a renewable energy developer and independent power producer owned by Modus Group, is to receive an equity investment of up to EUR 100 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Following the transaction, which is subject to the approval of competition authorities in several countries, the EBRD will become a minority shareholder in Green Genius and commits to invest up to €100 million in the company.
These funds will be used to develop and acquire new renewable energy projects in the Baltic States, Poland, Romania and other European markets.
Modus Group is an international group of companies currently operating in 10 European markets. The Group's core activities cover four areas: renewable energy (Green Genius), mobility services (Modus Mobility, CityBee, MyBee, Mobility Fleet Solutions), the auto business (16 brands), and Modus Asset Management, a company that manages investment funds for renewable energy.
